Interesting caste system with vampires. Each group originates with a god/goddess and has a unique to them ability (turning to smoke, being super fast, shifting). However with most groups, you have ones who think they are better and treat others as such. So, not surprising in this world, vamps can e snobby assholes.
Tynan is a Cait Sith. He can shift to a cat. The Cait Sith are also considered to be the lowest class and serve the Ptolemy (considered to be the highest). The Cait Sith that don't go into service (for lack of a better word) live in exile/poverty. Something/someone is killing off the Ptolemy. Ty is tasked with finding a Seer to figure out who it is so they may be stopped. Lily is an orphan and was adopted by a famous family. She has her own trauma in her past and she is different.
While this could have been an interesting concept it fell flat for me. Ty's blind obedience to a group/people/person who didn't value him was frustrating and went on too long. I didn't particularly like Lily or Ty and could not connect to either. Lily's abilities are interesting, but were figured out too easily. I didn't really like the romance either. The secondary characters were just okay.
