German Book.
This deals with secret operations (involving traitors, murders and kidnappings) during medieval times - something I've never heard about until now.
The author gives a general introduction as to why these commando operations were undertaken, how they differed from the ones today, and goes on to describe 6 scenarios in detail:
Antiocha, in the year 1098;
Kharpurt, 1123;
Tyros, 1192;
Calais, 1350;
rise and fall of the House of Valois-Burgundy;
the mill of Auriol, 1536.
Although sometimes the details (family trees, years) are a bit tiresome, the subject matter is interesting enough.
