Prequel to Border Lass (Amalie's story) This is Margaret's story. Margaret, or Meg as she is known to family, is plain and hardly a catch. Forced into a sham marriage by her father to Walter "Wat" Scott she begins to fall in love with him even though he sees her only as a woman and his wife, not one to be listened to, only protected so she can produce sons.
Kind of wordy and the storyline didn't seem to flow very easily. Wat's journey from husband to true lover didn't seem genuine and Meg was borderline TSTL. I'd only recommend this if you plan on reading Border Lass, which is a much better story.
