This is my favorite of the story ridge series.Mary kay Lapp not by choice becomes the Amish school teacher. She learns a lot about life and herself.She falls in love with the boy whose mother is not Amish although he is. His mother is an evil monster who has tried to wreck his life and his sister's and many other lives.Mary Kay's father prohibits her to have anything to do with this boy because of a secret he has kept from his family for many years about this boy's mother. I did not guess the story until it was told at the end. People can ruin our lives but God can straighten us out. Some people no matter who they are to us the best thing we can do is steer totally away from them.
