Jennifer Lynn Barnes seems to have written a series that only gets better with each book. The twists and turns of the plot continue, but somehow remain unfamiliar as you read, and the Brothers Hawthorne, so far, is the pinnacle of the series by far. Reading the Inheritance Games, I was mildly interested. I don't like to leave a series unfinished so I continued to the Hawthorne Legacy, believing the sequel would tie up all the loose ends nicely, and there would be few openings for a continuance of the story past the sequel. By the time I finished book two, the well-developed characters and intriguing plot twists had me delighted to find The Final Gambit was soon to be released, by which, I was enraptured, but sure would be the end. Thankfully, the possibilities, choices, and puzzles of the plot have been well thought out, because now, here I am, anxiously awaiting the release of book 5.
