This one is about Jayr (the only female seneschal) and Aedan Mac Byrne who is her suzerain. The story ties together some of the other characters from the previous books which helps expand the overall storyline for the series.
Although I love the Darkyn series, this book (#5) started out slowly for me, but as the story progressed I felt more of a connection to the characters. I felt a little frustrated at first because I knew where I wanted the story to go, but the characters were not ready to go there yet. It was well worth the read and I ended up loving the story.
I recommend that you give it try if you are reading the series - as the series will be coming to a close in the next book or two.
