This was my first Kevin O'Brien book but won't be my last. The story grabs you from the start and does not let go. Five members of the Singleton family are murdered and the caretaker is missing. Laura Gretchell's family is being held hostage by the caretaker and a former student of Laura. Sean Grechell is away in France checking out wineries. I found the plot twisty, suspenseful and fast-paced with very believable characters. My favorite characters were Laura and her daughter, Sophie. I found them both to be very courageous. I loved listening to the audio as the narrator was very energetic and commanding. I would recommend this book to those who love mystery thrillers.
