I'm usually a big Lisa Jackson fan. However, I was very disappointed with the two stories in this book. They read as tho they skipped the editing process.
The first story is INNOCENT BY ASSOCIATION. This is the story about the world of shady financial dealings, and taking advantage of inside trading. (Move over Martha Stewart!) The president of the company being investigated is a woman, and one of the suspects is her former lover, Garrett Reaves. No surprises in this story. No insightful glimpses into human nature or lessons to be learned--except that it was longer than expected. Lisa should stick at what she does best--homicide and serial killers.
In the second story, ZACHARY'S LAW, the plot is a little more unusual. The ex-husband of the heroine kidnaps the children and she hires an attorney to help get them back. He also turns out to be her lover. Unfortunately, it took almost 100 pages to find out Zachary was the lawyer and he was going to help our heroine...Again, not enough editing. However, the story did offer some insight into these kinds of situations. So, I enjoyed it more than the first one.
SOrry, Lisa. Only 3 stars this time!
