What a delightful read! The story is about a woman who has pursued her dreams to become an hydrologist when something draws her home. She has long been haunted by her father's death because she blames herself for not going fishing with him when he asked. That night he hit his head on his boat as he was fishing and drowned.
As the tale develops she becomes intrigued by a relative lost in obscurity - Rose Jarrett. Who is she? What happened to her? Why is there nothing in her family history about Rose? Her search leads her to surprising discoveries that help her cope with her guilt about her father's death. She finds herself admiring her long lost relative and her bravery.
I love the ending which does not follow the pattern so often found in such novels. It is certainly not what one might expect! Read this one. It's very good.
