The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa (translated by Philip Gabriel) is a literal journey across the country and figurative one through Satoru's life. This journey is a story of the connection between two living beings and of unconditional love. This idea goes beyond the fact that Satoru is a man, and Nana is a cat. That is the memory I will take from this book.
