This author is hilarious! Her take on what the characters see and feel had me rolling on the floor! (He was supposed to be firmly in control, not uncontrollably firm.) Chris "Crash" Dunmoor is 6 feet plus of muscle, long hair with a smart-ass attitude who is "forced" by his ailing grandmother to take art history from Vanessa Tower who is writing a book on Crash's grandfather's artwork. Crash hasn't been the same since he took his brother on a diving expedition where he drowned. Crash has blamed himself and believes that his grandfather always cared more for Steven until he sees the paintings that his grandfather has done. He also believes that Vanessa is trying to hoodwink his grandmother out of the paintings for her college which will also get her a nice pay raise and tenure. Together they discover that both have been victims of their losses; she's hiding from her pain by being safe and he's running from his by doing every dangerous thing known to man (hang-gliding, skydiving, deep sea diving, etc.)
