Here it is the year 2024 and I recently discovered this series. The random book I read out of order never explained where the money came from, it just kept referring to it. So, I found the first three books at my local library and dug in. It is difficult to read books from the mid 1980's and try to forget that there were no cell phones. I do like the characters, the stories behind the stories but jeez, imagine if a detective slept with all the women he meets on a case?
I know it is all for fun, but I hope it does not permeate every book moving forward. This 2nd book in the series was good, until the flower delivery arrived. Really? SPOILER ALERT! The guy is waiting to hear from the murderer and doesn't question who is at the door?
Anyway, I will keep going, I love the attorney Ames and hopefully he will be developed more as I go along. Some of the series is difficult to find and I really don't want to keep paying Amazon, so if any of you reading this come across a copy pm me and I will gladly take it off your hands.
