This was a fairly enjoyable book, but not up to the standards of the first two books. For those who've read the series, very little time is spent in Dobrenica, and Kim takes a back seat for most of the book. She spends that time as a helpful spirit (of a sort) to one of the more colorful royal ancestors of Dobrenica, trying to guide her path as she wanders from the tropics to Regency England to Napoleonic France and more. I might read it again someday. Maybe. I'd recommend you wait for the paperback if you're going to buy it.
