One of the very best books I have ever read;impossible to put down. An old, broken down man who has been living with the Indians for 30 years returns to find his eldest daughter Her daughter is kidnapped by the Indians and she, the old man and her youngest daughters pursue them. Grandpa is very tual and practices the ways of the Indians, while his daughter is devout Christian. Ron Howard made this into a movie starring Tomy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett which I plan to see soon., tho I know it will not be near as good as the book. Brought back faintly some memories of Castenada's books.
