The story is about a girl (later her adult life) named Jane Margaux who is basically a complete unknown to her major Broadway producer mom. They spend only one day a week together on Sundays to look at Tiffany jewelry and have lunch at one of the swanky restaurants around. Jane is lonely and has only 1 friend, Michael, although completely handsome and funny and her biggest fan. The problem is she is the only one who can see him ... she depends soley on him for affection, comfort and friendship...Nearing her 9th birthday Michael tells her he has to go; that he has to help other children. He assures her that the good thing about their separation is that she will not remember him (in no time at all).
...Years later in her thirties Jane is in a terrible relationship and still is under her over-bearing mother's thumb. Jane is awkward, shy and completely unsure of herself. Just when her life is at is worst she meets a perfect man and learns how to love her herself and to see what she truly is. She also learns about her mother and why her mom is the way she is
I truly enjoyed this feel-good book it was a little predictable in the middle but the ending was shocking to me and I felt like I should have known what was going to happen all along. It more than made up for the middle's lacking. This story is unique among the vast stories out there involving romance. It isn't too romantic or gushy with unnecessary pledges of undying love and expressions that make me feel just plain grossed out. If you enjoy a good love story with a little twist and a lot of immagination then you will really like this book
