Beautifully written, loving, warm, tender tale of family life and love. This was a happy marriage between two intelligent, humorous people and their children. Now, more than 8 years after her death, Calvin Trillin offers us a portrait of Alice Trillin - a stunningly beautiful woman who was an educator who was equally at home teaching at a university or helping out at a drug center, raising her girls, or working as a gifted writer. This beautiful love story deals with devastating loss in a way you can relate to, whether you have suffered the same or not. It is a fast and absorbing read. I do recommend it and suggest passing it on then to a good friend.
