Joanna S. reviewed on
Emma, the supposed spunky protagonist, for all her insights into the lives of both upstairs/downstairs, still seemed incredibly naive. The romance between she and Edison was not well-developed. They were around each other, they were conveniently engaged, and then "poof" they are suddenly in love. It just did not seem natural, or plausible, if plausability is allowed in romance novels. There are other more entertaining stories with better twists and mysteries out there.
