Todd has taken on his mom's role as Harper for the dragonfolk of Pern. He isn't using terribly original ideas, but instead has created a group of new characters living in the relatively early days of the Pern settlement. They are real and engaging and their hearts are in the right place. This is a thick book about weyrfolk, dragons and is a fun read.
