I enjoyed reading this book. I like to read the Newbury award winner books because the writing is quality. Sometimes I am not able to place myself in a young frame of mind though. I can see how Charlotte was a wonderful role model of adventure and courage for young women. As an adult, I found myself questioning whether the events would have really transpired. I often feel this way about these very young adult books. Having said this, I did enjoy the story.
