A while back I read a book by Debra Clopton called The Trouble with Lacey Brown. It was a cute story about a small town in Texas called Mule Hollow. Someone had placed an ad in the paper telling how this town was full of men in need of wives. Lacey moved there and after a series of crazy events found herself a husband.
Well, Clopton had written another Mule Hollow book -- And Baby Makes Five. This one is just as cute as Lacey Brown. Cort Wells has moved to Mule Hollow to get away from life, love and romance. He just wants to be left alone. Unfortunately he doesn't know that this small Texas community is all about matchmaking!
Shortly after his arrival, Cort meets Samantha... a greedy little donkey who loves to invade his world. Sam is a pain, but Cort finds it worth putting up with her in order to see her owner, the cute and great with child, Lilly Tipps.
Life throws these two back roads neighbors together over and over and in the midst of snow, ice, stubbornness, a dog named Loser and that silly donkey, romance blossoms. Both Cort and Lilly learn to never say never.. and to not put God in a box.
