One of the best Waterloo-set regencies I've read; in fact I found it more entertaining and less dated than Heyer's An Infamous Army. Julia and Hal are both very likeable people, and Max is wonderful. It's sexy, too.
The only flaw, if it is one, is that substantial space is taken up with the mystery arc of the Silk & Scandal series, without bringing it any closer to resolution. That part is just a confusing mass of information which I will certainly have forgotten completely by the time I run into the next book in the series. As the mystery is not resolved by the end of the book, it's just an annoying distraction. Nevertheless I would recommend this book.
