Dont run! Running takes air, and as everyone knows air isnt free.
It is the future and mankind has destroyed all of the trees causing the Earth to become nearly depleted of oxygen. The few survivors live in the pod where oxygen is manufactured for them by the corporation, Breathe. Breathe controls everything, including how much air you breathe.
Alina, Bea, and Quinn are teens living in the pod. Quinn lives the life of a Premium. He has all the air he wants and can even waste it on stuff like sports and making-out. Bea is Quinns best friend, who is an auxiliary. She longs for the life of a Premium and works hard to obtain that golden status, but most of all she longs to be with Quinn. Alina is part of the resistance. She knows the truth and is willing to die for her cause.
Together these three leave the pod, in search for answers, love, and trees. What they find on the outside will change them and the pod forever. Will they finally be able to breathe?
Where do I start with this book? Overall, I liked it. It was a dystopian teen novel and was well written. I cared about the characters and was interested in what happened to them. I also liked the premise of a world without oxygen. I just couldnt get past the authors main premise of how this all occurred.
