This is a very interesting book; if true, it blows the lid off the mystery of Jimmy Hoffa and even the death of John F. Kennedy. It is a very readable book. What I liked was the fact that Sheeran speaks with wonderful prose while avoiding self-pity and beating his own chest with pride. He just did what he had to do.
I think the author helped explain Sheeran by going back over his life and talking about Sheeran's background. After reading what Patton charged his men to do (kill everybody, even surrenderers) plus his 411 days of combat in Sicily (unbelievable), it is not hard to imagine that Sheeran learned to compartmentalize killing. It doesn't forgive the deeds but it does explain the man.
I wonder what his 4 daughters think of the book. I just started this a few hours ago and have finished it already because it is so very readable and fascinating. The author is a lawyer and kept the prose flowing while interjecting validating comments and sidebars. An amazing book.
