Now she works for the local paper, chasing leads from Crazy Pete Sabatino, the towns conspiracy theorist, and is on again, off again with her high school boyfriend.
Then a chance encounter changes everything and Sally is offered a job writing a piece for Expectations, a high-end tabloid magazine. Her assignment is to write an expose on Cassy Cochran, president of the powerful DBS TV network in New York.
While running back and forth between New York and Castleford, Sally finds shes juggling two lifestyles, two jobs, even two men. But her world collide when shes drawn into a murder investigation--- a murder that according to Crazy Pete is directly linked to the death of Sallys father, some twenty years ago.
For someone whos always taken risks, Sally suddenly finds that her life is completely out of control. Her plum assignment isnt what is seems, one of the men in her life just might have a hidden agenda and her fathers accidental death might have been murder.
