This book didn't really blow me away but it was a completely enjoyable YA read. Kestrel is a pleasantly developed protagonist and the love story doesn't overtake the rest of the plot. There were a few moments in this that made me cast a side-eye but for the most part there's nothing objectionable in here. If you like the sound of the premise I'd certainly recommend it. I'll be reading the sequel in the near future.
