Ever read a book and wonder if the author wrote two stories and then just melded them together? The first story is a modern superhero versus evil villains romp with an inquisitive, stunning reporter thrown into the mix. The second is your boiler plate romance novel, with weakness in the knees etc, and not much else.
The plot is interesting, but the actual relationship writing is forced/fake. A good read for the beach.
