A Moonlight Promise by Laurie Alice Eakes
3***
1825
My interest picked up after the first couple of chapters and I did enjoy this story set in 1825 on a Hudson River steamboat. I particularly was touched by the faith and commitment to God of some of the characters. The two main characters were quite well developed for such a short story.
Lessons in Love by Anne Shorey
1858

Lessons in Love is a lovely story, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It reminds me that more often than not, people are not really who they seem or claim to be. Lessons in Love illustrates this concept spectacularly. Well done!
One Little Word by Anne Cabot
1892

This is a beautiful story of two people who had their lives and futures planned by their parents. I especially love Lorraine and the courage she found within herself to pursue her dream. Inspiring story!
A Saving Grace by Jane Kirkpatrick
Prior to 1911

What a charming story! The main character, Grace, is just an ordinary woman, who is an extraordinary friend. This novella based on real events and people is light-hearted and upbeat despite the morbidity of the situation.
