This was one of Karen Kay's better novels. I really enjoyed it and almost couldn't put it down (it got too late and I just couldn't keep my eyes open anymore, but I finished it shortly after getting up!). The characters were well-developed and I liked how they had to come to terms with the differences in culture. The side character "Pretty Moon" was also quite a laugh, and makes a worthy "side-kick" to the heroine.
