Overall I enjoyed the story. I liked the cast of characters. I enjoyed the heroine- I thought she was ballsy. The steampunk element was a minor one; this felt more urban fantasy to me. I wasn't sure how much I would like this, since I usually avoid alternate history themed books, but I did get into the story. It did take about 1/3 of the book to really get into it. The other thing is the British slang (ie fag=cigarette) took time to get used to. I look forward to the next one.
