As with all of the in the series thus far, I love the brotherhood. Each book just builds on the relationships between them all and it keeps me wanting to read more. This one's focus is on Vishous and Jane. Vishous, or V, has been a favorite of mine from the beginning and learning more about him and his past in this book made me like him even more. There are some things in the book, in relation to V that may make some readers uncomfortable, but it is what it is and I'm glad that J.R. Ward was ballsy enough to go through with his story line. In some ways I'd say that V's back story is as heartbreaking in it's brutality as Zsadist's.
I loved Jane, talk about a true no nonsense woman. Although she has been kidnapped and is scared for her life, she is still able to hold her own with V and the whole brotherhood. She's strong, intellegent and is perfect for V.
The book's secondary focus is on Phury and paves the way for book 5, Lover Enshrined.
It also continues to show the growth of John Mathews from pretrans to post change, and how his relationships continue to grow with Blaylock & Qhuinn and Zsadist, the flashbacks that he has, and his issues with Lash.
Some reviewers have stated that the "HEA" for V & Jane wasn't to their liking, but for me I thought it was unique and after everything you learn about V, you realize that in many ways it's perfect for him.
