I was somewhat disappointed with this latest in the Sweet series. I was looking forward to Conner's story, thinking that he would be more involved in The House and its lifestyle, but this one didn't have any of that heat. (Unfortunately, The House was only mentioned in an oblique way.) Conner and Lyric were a good match, but he was a lot more sexy in the previous books. Lyric had a lot of unusual past baggage which she kept close to her chest and protected herself with a ballsy, in-your-face persona (not my favorite type of heroine). Also, I thought the stalker subplot was weak and the resolution was too predictable. Of course, it was good to revisit with friends and to get a peek into their progressive relationships, but I was glad that it didn't overwhelm the main couple. If it weren't for the mutual friends, I'd say that Sweet Possession didn't fit in this series at all. Basically, this story was a showcase of Conner's and Lyric's not so very exciting hate-at-first-sight, let's-learn-to-trust romantic dance. 3.5 stars.
