I love British humor and british television. Now I have to add I love British mysteries. I watched the series that sprang from this book on the BBCA. Really great stuff so I knew that the books would be better.

I was right. Tony Hill is an extremely engaging character. I cannot say that I see myself in him like I do other books but I am always interested in how his mind turns and what he will do next. He is not the atypical American profiler with the poor beleagured family. He has an entirely different reason for being fascinated with the criminally deranged and simply fractured mind. And let me tell you it's a really interesting reason. I seriously don't think i've ever seen any other man say that in print. Not someone who was the lead character of the novel.

The mystery within is gruesome. Some of the stuff depicted I flinched at. It's grisly and gripping.

This book is well worth the read if you like anything remotely close to this genre. I am currently making my way through the entire series. And so far it only gets better!
