Two women from very different backgrounds meet in a hospital. Grace, an older lady, needs surgery but has been fighting her son for years to not have it done. Then one day, she receives a special "gift" and she finally agrees to have surgery.
Leslie, on the other hand, is a young ambitious woman, who is driven night and day to do more and move up at her job. That is until one day she injures herself and ends up in the hospital. Even while in the hospital, she attempts to keep busy and tries doing work from her bed.
Fate and God puts these two women together in a room as the hospital at the time is overcrowded. And Leslie thinks that her private room has been invaded by Grace so she attempts to have her removed only to find out that Grace has agreed to share her private room.
Grace tries talking to Leslie but her mind is on her job. But eventually God opens Leslie's ears and then and only then can Grace share her "gift" with Leslie.
It is obvious that our Lord planned their encounter. Both women come away from the experience a better person, especially Leslie who really had not faith. It is a story about God, choices, faith, life, the world and our priorities and goals. A fast and heart-warming read.
