Another Lippman suspense novel that kept me reading into the late night!! I love the way Laura Lippman writes her chapters in alternating time, giving background and substance to her characters. Altho this novel had many, many characters that one had to really keep track, her writing style makes it easier to do so than some writers.
Our story is about five neighborhood kids who have the freedom of the 70's to roam the wooded park near their homes. (Something parents wouldn't allow today.) They play and explore deeper and deeper into the woods, until an event occurs that changes their lives, and those of their parents, forever. When they come together again as adults due to the death of one of their 'pack', the secrets of youth come forward. No spoiler here, you'll have to read, and enjoy, this mystery.
