The Barons Governess Bride by Deborah Hale
Glass Slipper Brides Book 3
Grace Ellerby's life has not been easy. After her father's death her "evil stepmother" sent her to a school for Vicar's orphans. Grace had to suffer from something unusual...her beauty. Fellow students were jealous of her and teachers demeaned her. Her saving grace had been her close friends. They still wrote regularly and two of them even found true love and happiness. Grace just wanted to keep a governess job where male attention didn't send her running. Thus her plan.she uglified herself. Cinderella covered in ashes.
Widower Lord Rupert Steadwell needed an ugly governess obviously. He couldn't have his three daughters endure another pretty governess leaving them for marriage. When he met Miss Ellerby he knew she'd be perfect. She looked the perfect part of someone who accepted their plainness and knew marriage was not an option. He watched her win his daughters over and he even became fond of their walks together. But he had an obligation to marry again and produce an heir.who knew his decision would cause such chaos in his home.
Deborah brings her characters to life and has you turning the page after page hoping that Rupert can see the beauty within the plain governess. She brings out the unique, adorable and obstinate personalities of Graces three charges as well. A unique and delightful story with hints of the old fairy tale, Cinderella. This is the third book in the series. Book 1 is Much Ado About Nuptials and its in a Novella Called The Wedding Season, Book 2 is The Captains Christmas Family. Enjoyable stories of girls who had a hard life and never would have thought their lives could have fairy tale endings.
