Picks up where the last book (Night Reigns) left off. Melanie is a doctor working for the Network. Bastien is an Immortal who had gone after the other Immortals for Personal Reasons. Realizing they were huge misunderstandings (aren't they all?), he's realized his mistakes. Both were interested in each other in the previous book, so I was excited to read their story in this one.
I liked that Melanie took the lead, because Bastien had worries over how she would be treated once it became known they were a couple. This is a revelation about Melanie. All the previous characters from the last 2 books come to play in this one. Emrys is a fantastic villain- much less of what is going on in his head (other then he's a greedy bastard), so there is more of a surprise element. There is resolution to his story-line (or maybe not because of something Zack said to Seth). That leads me to Zack. Who is he? I'm interested. I thought his and Ami's interaction was sweet. Still unanswered questions about Seth and David, although more is learned about their abilities.
When it's all said and done? I'm enjoying this series. The cast of characters are likable and fun.
