Incredible world building, but there was so much loss for October that sometimes I had a hard time getting myself to pick the book up again. She loses her family of origin, her career, her husband, her daughter, 14 years of her life... I get it that urban fantasy is supposed to be dark, but I'm sticking with LL Foster and Patricia Briggs who give you a little happiness to go along with it.
