After five long years of working at the FBI, Special Agent Prudence Dunlop has been picked for her dream job, working for SKURRT...Serial Killer Unit Rapid Response Team. This team is led by Special Agent John Cahill, a veteran agent that Pru has looked up to for years. The first case that they will be investigating is one where three women have been found murdered. They were each found lying on their beds clutching a red rose. The murders resemble the work of prolific serial killer John Allen Styles. Is there a copycat killer or is Styles somehow directing these murders from inside a prison?

This romantic suspense story is part of the Harlequin Intrigue line. I enjoyed the suspense story. There were several suspects and some red herrings. I took a guess at the identity of the killer, but I was wrong. The romance portion of the story didn't work for me. Pru has been in love with Cahill for years, even though she hadn't actually talked to him before joining his team. Cahill didn't seem to think of her as anything other than a team member until over halfway through the book. Suddenly he wanted to kiss her. It seemed like his feelings came out of nowhere. So, great suspense story with a not-so-great romance. My rating: 4 Stars.
