This book wasn't quite what I expected. It consists almost entirely of Cooke's musings about the places he visits and the information he gained. The disappointment was that he seldom mentions how he gains that information. Very seldom does he mention anyone he meets, and, if he does, that person is seldom quoted. Plus the person is always identified by their position (e.g. manager) or trade (e.g. cattleman).
Still, it was an interesting read.
