After learning of her father's suicide, Detective Rebecca North returns to her hometown to settle his affairs. She learns that the retired cop had been working on a cold case at the time of his death. Circumstances make her question if her father killed himself, or was it murder? As she looks into the cold case he was working on, Becca runs across Ash Haugen...and old boyfriend who betrayed her and the last person to see her father alive. With his help, they look into the disappearance of two teens twenty years ago that is somehow linked to her father's death.

Loreth Anne White's description of northwest Canada in January made me shiver. I felt like I was right there with the main characters, riding a snowmobile while wearing layers and layers of clothes. The suspense in this book also made me shiver. It's a dark, gritty story that was very hard to walk away from. I was totally blown away by the revelation of who was behind the murders. My rating: 5 Stars.
