I'm going to seriously date myself but when I was in late elementary school my father got a calculator. Nothing to fancy, it did addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. If I recall correctly, it may have even stored a number for you. I can remember sitting at the kitchen table, borrowing the calculator, to calculate biorhythms. Biorhythms were something I had seen somewhere, probably Boy's Life and was intrigued. Ever since that day I have been fascinated with the unseen rhythms - the zeitgebers - that influence our lives.
"The Circadian Code" by Satchin Panda is more than the modern day equivalent of that Boy's Life article. Panda explains the science with significant molecular biological evidence and genetic research into these hidden rhythms of our lives. Not simple 3 phase biorhythms, and not limited to the simplistic perceptions of being a morning or evening person, but daily circadian cycles not 'of our bodies' but the cellular level of each of our major body organs and functions.
Panda explains complex concepts quite simply, and weaves them together to show how with an understanding of the hidden rhythms of our bodies can improve our health. [4/5]
