This is a different type of story, and it took a bit of time to get into this unique tale. Edwina Dalrymple is employed to get Rafe Audley to take his place amongst the peerage of the ton. Rafe is the eldest of four children who were illegitimate offspring of the Duke of Bentley. Rafe is bitter at thirty-one years of age that he's been the primary support and protector of his siblings without help. He is the foreman of a coal mine.
I don't want to over-divulge the story because the reader pulls onion skins away from the bulb until something unique emerges. However, I had a couple of problems with this story. Unfortunately, the story ends abruptly. Second, Edwina Dalrymple'situation was too quickly solved. Otherwise, this was an engrossing and lively story.
