I have mixed feelings about this book. It's a good storyline, but the presentation is a little lacking. There are big lapses in time which make you feel like you missed something. Then the ending is very vague, almost like the author was in a hurry to be done with it. I was also a little put off by the portrail of the American character, Delia. The author used words like "ain't" and "y'all" in the dialogue when she wanted to emphasize that Delia was American. Yes, that's stereotypical language of Americans today, southerners more specifically, but it's not really an accurate representation of Americans in the early 1900s. So basically, I think it was ok, but definately not one of my favorites. ***
