London 1866
The story line is hero saves unsuspecting heroine and she is thrust upon him. Their relationship grows until they eventually marry. While this sounds trite and common, the threads woven throughout make this story more unique.
She's scottish, and he's American. They meet in London. They both go through character transformations as they are forced to marry and make the best of it. He fights it (surprise surprise:) and she embraces it.
I liked it, just didn't love it. Not bad for a weekend read at the beach though.
