Brownie Groundhog and the Wintry Surprise is a childrens story by Susan Blackaby that is charmingly illustrated by award winning artist Carmen Segovia. This clever sequel to Brownie Groundhog and the February Fox continues to explore the friendship that was formed and demonstrates the different approaches to the cold weather of winter. Poor Brownine thinks that she is going to hibernate but the fox has other ideas and their new friend, Bunny, is drawn into the foxs plans.
This slightly oversized and enchanting book is filled with beautiful artwork and a delightful story that shows how friends can have entirely different ideas of what should happen yet compromise and achieve lovely results. The garbled words that come out of sleepy Brownie Groundhogs mouth are interpreted in two different ways by her friends but fortunately, the end result is still fun. A book with wonderful and striking illustrations best shared by someone who can read it for a younger audience.
