Easter Bonnet Murder is the twenty eighth installment in the A Lucy Stone Mystery series set in Tinkers Cove, Maine and featuring journalist, Lucy Stone. The towns beloved retired librarian, Miss Julia Tilley is in the hospital with pneumonia and the prognosis for the 100+ year old is not good. Miss Tilley's longtime caregiver, Rachel Goodman is beside herself and begs Lucy to go and visit the woman before it's too late. Fortunately, Miss Tilley fights back and makes a recovery, but instead of going home the doctor's recommend that she go to the Heritage House, a local assisted living home to continue her rehabilitation.

Lucy has visited the Heritage House many times to cover activities for the newspaper, but had no idea that the facility was rife with evil undercurrent, until Miss Tilley becomes a resident. Despite their ages, the Seniors appear to have their cliques, vying to be most popular and the upcoming Easter Bonnet contest has everyone looking to come out the winner. When Agnes Neal, avid birdwatcher and last year's winner disappears on a walk, her daughter Geri begs Lucy to look into her mother's disappearance. Convinced that her mother didn't just wander off and bothered by comments Agnes had made about something she suspected was not right at Heritage House, Geri wants the truth. And who better to investigate behind the scenes, but Miss Tilley.

A fun afternoon read, a captivating plot and the return of series regulars. This addition to the series features Medicare fraud, an old war crime, and Lucy's challenges with younger daughter Zoe, as she prepares to move out of the house.
