I started this book last fall, but set it aside as it wasn't grabbing me. Six months later, in a fit of desperation with nothing else to read, I picked it up again and finished it in one sitting (sunbathing session).
Overall, I wasn't impressed. The first half of the book was boring and I couldn't really warm to any of the characters. The second half of the book was slightly more interesting, but the wow factor that usually lures me into historical fiction was missing. I discovered upon completion that this was a sequel to "The Aviary Gate". Honestly, at this point I don't have any interest in reading it, but wondering if I had read it would I have enjoyed "The Pindar Diamond" more.
