Jessica a registered nurse, widow, and mother of 6 year old Emma travels from Baltimore to Colorado in 1933 for a nursing job. When she arrives with her daughter hungry and penniless, she is informed there is no job. However, there is a family she can stay with who will give her and daughter room and board if she will take care of the old mother who is a recent stroke patient. She quickly agrees. The Family's youngest son, Sean is sent to get her. At first sight, neither likes the other. However, Both have suffered through cruel marriages and have been accused of lies they did not commit, but they are honest with each other and both repent to God of the bitterness in their hearts. That is part of the perfect gift and the other part is finding each other. This is a beautifully written Christmas story and very moving.

A beautiful gift book.
