Michael Wallner writes a true account of what really happened when the Gestapo arrived in France during World War II. His writing is emotional; from love to torture to despondency. He writes and has done his research thoroughly. The reader feels the emotions.
His description of the torture of the people was correct, the Gestapo, the French Resistance. The book may not be one for the tender-hearted. But, it is a book of reality of what did happen for many during World War II in the European countries. An excellent read.
