I like Upfield's mysteries. Inspector Bonaparte uses logic and evidence to decipher the crime and reveal the criminal. This novel was somewhat different than the others I've read, as it took place in Victoria and not in the Outback of one of the other Australian states.

When the criminal was revealed, the character was one of a few I thought it might be, but I was not able to know which one it was until "Bony" revealed it. And it was amusing how the murder weapon was cleverly revealed on the outside of the book.

I'm glad I still have many of Inspector Bonaparte's stories to read.
